Are There Any Medicare Criteria I Need to Meet to be Covered for Cologuard?
Medicare covers Cologuard once every 3 years as long as you are between 50-85 years old and you are at average risk for developing colon cancer.
Patients with Traditional Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans do not have any co-pays or deductible amounts.
For Medicare Advantage patients, this became effective June 15, 2016.
Medicare will not cover the test if you have symptoms that your doctor thinks may be related to colon cancer, if you previously had a positive colonoscopy that found polyps or cancer, or if your doctor determines that you have a high-risk family history of colon cancer.
